this image is so thick with intrigue

two possibilities here, i think:

a. seymour has a hunch that his cosigns are plotting some sort of coup and pretends to fall into a deep sleep to catch them red-hoofed as they discuss their treachery

b. seymour swallowed a marble and fell ill and these are his royal surgeons debating how to get it out of him
