First of all, it’s not nice to take pictures without sourcing them to the photographer. Which is doubly important because if you had you would have found the rest of Paul Wiggin’s photos of this sumatran tiger cub from the Chester Zoo and and used this one instead, which is objectively 10x better in every way
PSA! Panting cats are super bad and should always be a cause for concern! Cat’s aren’t meant to pant like dogs do, and any panting in a cat is extremely dangerous and the kitty can actually die!! Most likely the cat is panting because it is stressed out or anxious, so if your cat starts panting you need to immediately get it to a calm environment, offer it some space, and make sure the panting settles down.
That cat became an icon THIS MONTH AND IS STILL ONE.
that’s Jo-Pawveski, a stray who wandered onto the ice and past the nashville predators bench during round 2 of playoffs. They eventually picked her up and sent her to the humane society.
Here she is.
The SAN JOSE SHARKS won that game and attributed it to her, naming her after the Sharks captain: Joe Pavelski. When they found out she was a girl, they changed her name to Jo instead of Joe.
She became an instant good luck charm after that as the Sharks won every game at home that series and moved onto round three.
Since then, every game, they stack pucks and stick a idol to Jo for luck.
This little cat has had merchendise made out of her. She’s literally almost replaced SJ sharkie as maschot of the team.
I mean. I’m not making this up. I HAVE A RALLY TOWEL OF HER THEY GAVE OUT FOR GAME 1 OF THE 3RD ROUND. I OWN THIS FUCKING THING:
FURRIES HAVE BEEN SHOWING UP DRESS AS HER.
She had her own livestream to check in on her.
SHE’S IN THE PREGAME OPENING ANIMATION
And so I know what you’re gonna say here.
Well… what happened to Jo, though.
Good news, This week, as Sharks made their first Stanley Cup, Jo and another Kitty were adopted.
I feel like maybe this might be of interest to some.
PRRRRRRRRRRR-PRRRRRRRRRRRR
Reblogging right now because I’m having a random anxiety attack and figured someone else might need soothing too.
Cheetahs are one of my favorite animals, and they have anxiety too! They get spooked pretty easily and actually are often given therapy dogs in order to help them with their anxiety.
They’re very sweet; they just have big claws and big teeth. They’re really loving when in groups and habitually do social grooming for hours and hours. They’re a lovely animal. :3 To hear them purr is a pure delight.
